Local AT&T Executive Joins EDAWN as VP

Nancy McCormick, a local AT&T executive, has been named vice president for business retention, expansion and workforce at the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada. She will begin on April 9.

In her new assignment, McCormick will focus her attention on the needs of existing businesses in EDAWN’s realm covering the greater Reno-Tahoe region, a top priority for the agency’s new president/CEO, Mike Kazmierski.

McCormick said in her 32-year tenure at AT&T and its associated businesses, management spoke of “shutting the back door” to minimize losing customers.

At EDAWN, she said, “We won’t grow if we don’t shut the back door. It’s important to keep what we’ve got and expand businesses that need help. We won’t have a positive net effect if we don’t keep what we’ve got.”
